This week’s Watching the Web features Mortal Kombat Legacy. One of the most popular video games gets a live action web series treatment. The new series looks to be the perfect compliment to the new game release to hit stores next week.

For those of us gamers, Mortal Kombat is quickly taking over April. Next week, Mortal Kombat returns to consoles in the US. Pre-order now or be ready to stand in line at your local gaming store to pick up your copy on Tuesday, 04/19/2011.


If you just cannot wait for the heart-pumping soundtrack, impressive combos and gruesome fatalities, this week’s Watching the Web feature is the live-action web series, Mortal Kombat Legacy. The web series promises to give viewers some insight into the back story of the Mortal Kombat characters. The first episode of the series was posted yesterday and boasts 12 minutes 25 seconds of fantastic production quality, beautiful direction, fast-moving fight scenes and a good ol’ gunfight. Upping the ante is the casting. Familiar faces like Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager), Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica), Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite), Ian Anthony Dale (The Event) and Ryan Robbins (Sanctuary) are sure to hook the geek set.
