Harry Potter . . . It’s Over, Can We Cry Now?

It is really over – the Harry Potter books, movies, etc. Did the final movie live up to the expectation? I think so! I was lucky enough to see it in 3D, and the theater still had the limited edition Harry Potter 3D glasses, whidh by the way got very fogged up by my sobbing!

It seems with the Harry Pottery Wizarding World at Universal Studios, and all sorts of fan related events, it will never truly die. Even as I write this article, I am on my way to Harvard Square’s Hogwarts Square Celebration. Restaurants will have Harry Potter themed drinks, stores will have events like Quidditch and allow you to brew your own potions. Even the cupcake shop will have Dark Mark cupcakes. Probably the best events to see are MC Kreacher, Draco & the Malfoys and Harry & the Potters, who are all awesome! If you have an opportunity to see any of these bands, do so!

Going back to the final film, I think it really did justice to the book, except for a bit of the ending differing from the book. I was very happy with the portrayal of the characters and was glad to see my favorite character, Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) come back . . . well, kind of. I cried so darn hard during the film. To me, it feels like the characters are family and I am going to miss them! I am really hoping for more once JK Rowling does more work on the Pottermore website.

All of my other loves are pretty much gone, except for comic versions of franchises like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Serenity, Firefly, Angel and more. So I solemly swear I am up to no good, and believe it will continue!

What did you think of the final Harry Potter film? I would love to hear your thoughts, so leave a comment below.
