E3 2016 – Bethesda Showcase

Tim Willits, Studio Director of ID Software, opened the showcase strong with the announcement of Quake Champions. Arena-style, first-person shooter fun is back on PC, now in 1020HZ with unlocked frame rates. Bethesda is using Quake Champions as a launchpad to embrace e-Sports and extend competitive play beyond QuakeCon.

Pete Hines, Global VP of PR & Marketing, reminded the audience of Bethesda’s recent highlights, including: Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout Shelter, Fallout 4 and DOOM.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a strategy card game which will offer single and multi-player modes. Battle and arena mode options for multiplayer modes. The Elder Scrolls: Legends will branch out to include iPhone, Mac, as well as Android phones and tablets.

Fallout 4 Contraptions provides new weapon racks, track kits, and more! Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop will allow players to build their own vaults, experiment on dwellers in July 2016. Fallout Shelter will also see an update with dweller quests, new locations, new combat system and new characters in July 2016. Fallout 4 Nuka World DLC takes the fun of Fallout 4 to an amusement park, available in August 2016.

Amid the Fallout announcements, Bethesda also shared the release of Skyrim Special Edition. The remastered special edition will be available on PC and consoles 10/28/16, including enhanced environments and shading effects, as well as mods playable on consoles.

Arkane Studios announced a new psychological thriller, Prey. Space, scientific experimentation and survival set the stage for the new title, coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC fall 2017.

DOOM Snapmap new props, weapons, new modes. All Snapmap updates will be free for all players. Unto the Evil will be DOOM‘s first premier multi-player DLC and will include new playable demon, taunts and weapons. Starting tonight, new players can download the first level of DOOM on Xbox One, PS4 or Steam to try for one week!

The Elder Scrolls Online announces the Dark Brotherhood DLC available on consoles 6/14/2016! The Elder Scrolls Online: One Tamriel levels the playing field as all characters will be automatically leveled with no restrictions to create a true open-world experience allowing players to play with whomever they want whenever they want.

Dishonored 2 offers players the choice to play as the young Empress or her protector. Both playable characters are fully voiced and have character reactions dependent on the perspective players choose. The landscape includes more use of vertical space thus expanding stealth options. New environmental aspects will impact game-play with wind as an important factor in the new city. Far reach has been enhanced to allow mid-air finishes for foes, as have many of the skills in improved skill trees. In addition to the enhances skills, there are a number of new supernatural powers which allow players to influence foes, affect memory and “shadow walk.” Dishonored 2 will be available on PS4, Xbox One or PC 11/11/2016.
